Despite uncertainties about the election being held, the government announced the election for November 19. UCPN (M), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), and united Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) welcomed the announcement and started to prepare for the election. The parties opposing the present political process protested the decision of the government to hold the election. Then the leaders of the main political parties stated that they would try to attempt agreement with the opposing parties but the no one can halt the November election. The opposing parties asserted that the election would not be held if their demands were not met and they would not let it happen. Amidst the wrangling among the political parties, the Election Commission took forward its preparations for the election. However, in the absence of consensus among the political parties, the atmosphere for the election was not favourable.
