Hari Sharma is the Director of Alliance for Social Dialogue. He has served in the government and academia in various capacities. He has 15 years of teaching experience in various academic institutions and departments of political science such as Tribhuwan University’s (TU) Central Department of Political Science, Ratna Rajya Campus (TU), Kathmandu College of Management, and the Kathmandu University. He has Masters in Political Science from Tribhuwan University. He was a Fulbright scholar at Cornell University, US, from where he received a Masters in Comparative Politics. He is the co-author of Political Leadership in Nepal and Local Leadership in Nepal. He has also contributed chapters to various books.

Prem Sapkota Deputy Director

Prem Sapkota is the Deputy Director of Alliance for Social Dialogue. At ASD, he is responsible for planning, managing and co-ordinating all activities with the Program Officers and the OSF Regional Director and Programme Coordinator. He is also involved in overseeing the policy briefs prepared under the various themes of ASD. Initially, he started his work with the Social Science Baha from 2007 and has been with ASD since its establishment in 2007. He has more than three years of research experience. Prem completed his Master of Arts in Anthropology from Tri-Chandra Campus, Tribhuwan University, and has also taken the Immersion Course on Contemporary Social Issues from the Social Science Baha.

Som Niroula

Som Niroula is Programme Officer, responsible for the Human Rights portfolio at ASD. He provides strategic support to current human right grantees in Nepal and also oversees preparation of policy briefs on human right policies. He has a decade long experience of working in the field of human rights and worked at the South Asia Forum for Human Rights, Kathmandu. He holds Master of Arts in Peace Education from United Nations Mandated University for Peace (UPEACE), Costa Rica in 2007 and completed his Master of Arts in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University in 2002.

Swagat Raj Pandey Programme Officer

Swagat Raj Pandey is Programme Officer, responsible for the Education portfolio at ASD. He provides strategic oversight to current education grantee’s, coordinates and supports OSF Education Network Programmes in the country. He also oversees preparation of policy briefs on education policies. Prior to joining the ASD, he worked at Nagarik Aawaz managing programs on conflict transformation and peace building. He is also engaged in teaching students of MSW (Master’s in Social Work) at the partner institution of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in Kathmandu. Swagat completed his Masters of Arts in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India.

Shehnaz Banu Programme Officer

Shehnaz Banu is Programme Officer, responsible for the Media portfolio at ASD. She provides strategic oversight to current media grantee’s, co-ordinates and supports OSF’s Media Network Programmes in Nepal. She was in-charge of the New Media and Debate Workshop conducted in the summer of 2010 under OSF’s Youth Initiatives. Shehnaz is currently undertaking her Masters in Business Administration from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, and completed her Bachelors in Business Administration from CTL Eurocollege, Cyprus.

Neetu Pokharel Programme Officer

Neetu Pokharel is Programme Officer, responsible for Women’s Programme at ASD. She closely coordinates with the International Women’s Program (IWP) –Open Society Foundations, New York, in facilitating grant making and providing strategic support to IWP grantees in Nepal. Prior to joining ASD, Neetu worked at Women’s Rehabilitation Centre Nepal(WOREC) on issues of peace, women rights and human rights at district and national level. She has also worked as an international observer of post conflict Presidential Election in Sri Lanka. Neetu holds her Masters in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies (CPDS) and Masters in Business Studies (MBS).

Archita Pant is Programme Officer, responsible for the Youth Programmes at ASD. She closely coordinates with the Youth Initiatives Program,. Prior to joining ASD, Archita worked as a freelance research consultant with Save the Children Nepal, UNICEF and CWIN-Nepal. Archita completed her Masters in Social Work from Jamia Millia Islamia, N-Delhi, India.

Srishti Adhikari is the Programme Associate responsible for the Scholarship Program at ASD. She closely coordinates with the OSF Scholarship Programs in advertising the offered scholarships and conducting outreach programs and facilitates the application process for the applicants. She also acts as a liaison for the OSF Scholarship Programs and assists the scholarship grantees with their procedural preparations and queries. Srishti has a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and Critical Social Thought from Mount Holyoke College, USA.

Santosh Shah Programme and Account Assistant

Santosh Shah is Programme and Account Assistant, assisting the overall activities of ASD in coordination with the Secretariat. He is also engaged in managing the accounts of ASD as well as providing logistic support to the Programme Officers. He is pursuing his ACCA and has an undergraduate degree in Business Studies from Tribhuwan University.
